Keep It Out of Direct Heat
Most 3D printed plastics soften at temperatures you’d find in a hot car or right next to a sunny window. Keep pieces away from direct, sustained heat and they’ll hold their shape indefinitely. A spot on a shelf or desk out of direct sun is ideal.
Cleaning Without Scratching
A dry microfiber cloth or a soft brush handles dust just fine. For anything more stubborn, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap works well — just avoid soaking the piece or using abrasive scrubbers, which can dull the surface finish over time.
Handling Painted or Detailed Pieces
If a piece has fine detail or a painted finish, handle it by its sturdiest point rather than thin extensions like arms or tips, which take the most stress if bumped. When not on display, a padded box keeps detailed pieces safest during a move or storage.
